The European Championships 2008 logo with its mountains, symbolises concisely what the two host countries have in common. The Alps are shown as red jagged lines on the left of the logo with a green football resplendent in their midst.
The mascots Trix and Flix come from the legend of a fantasy village in the Alps. They have the numbers 20 and 08 on their shirts and are wearing the national colours of the host nations.

Germany starts its path to the European Championships title in Group B, together with Austria, Croatia and Poland.
